CasaProof legal

Terms of Service

Effective August 1, 2026

These Terms govern CasaProof’s app and online services. They supplement the applicable App Store or Google Play terms. Please also read the Privacy Policy.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By installing, accessing, purchasing through, or using CasaProof, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or its online services. You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet the minimum age required in your country. If you use CasaProof for another person or organization, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

2. What CasaProof does

CasaProof is a record-organizing tool for rental condition, issues, move-out documentation, and related communications. It lets you save your information locally, preview summaries, and, where your plan and device support it, prepare report packages.

CasaProof is not a lawyer, surveyor, insurer, deposit adjudicator, emergency service, notary, timestamp authority, or landlord portal. It does not determine fault, decide what law applies, certify that a record is complete or authentic, send a notice for you, or guarantee any legal, deposit, insurance, or dispute outcome.

3. Local workspace and Private backup

The core organizer works without an account and stores its workspace on your device. Creating an account does not upload the workspace. Private backup begins only when you explicitly choose a first Back up or Restore action. Later saved changes may queue and retry only while CasaProof is open and online.

Private backup is a recovery feature, not real-time or background multi-device sync. Network, device, provider, conflict, and file-format failures can delay or prevent a backup or restore. Check the status shown in the app and keep an independent archive.

4. Your content and responsibilities

You retain ownership of rental records, photos, notes, messages, and other content you provide. You grant the CasaProof operator a limited right to host, process, copy, and transmit that content only as needed to deliver features you request, secure and maintain the service, comply with law, and follow the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness, and completeness of content; obtaining any permission needed to photograph, store, or share it; protecting sensitive information; reviewing reports and drafts before use; meeting legal, contractual, safety, and reporting deadlines; and keeping independent copies. For hazards or emergencies, contact the appropriate landlord, professional, authority, or emergency service.

5. License and acceptable use

Subject to these Terms and the applicable store rules, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use CasaProof for its intended purpose. Apps obtained through Apple are also subject to Apple’s Standard EULA unless a different EULA is shown by Apple.

You may not bypass plan or quota controls, access another user’s data, probe or disrupt security, introduce malicious code, scrape or bulk-extract the service, resell the app, reverse engineer it except where law permits, infringe another person’s rights, or use CasaProof unlawfully.

6. Free plan and CasaProof Plus

The current Free plan includes one rental case, up to eight rooms, 25 photos per case with up to 12 per room, report previews, deterministic message drafts, and optional Private backup. The current CasaProof Plus plan adds eligible report-package preparation and capacity for up to 10 rental cases, 30 rooms per case, 50 photos per room, 500 photos per case, and 2,000 photos per workspace.

Private backup is an optional account feature rather than a Plus-only benefit. Cloud-backed photos must be supported JPEG files of no more than 2 MiB each and are subject to a 5 GiB hard ceiling per account. Unsupported, oversized, or temporarily unavailable originals may remain device-only and are identified as such by the app.

Plus capacity is not represented as unlimited. Limits and feature availability may change to protect reliability, security, and sustainable operating cost. A subscription lapse does not automatically delete existing local records or Private backup. Existing work remains reviewable and reducible; actions that increase capped usage may be blocked until the workspace is within the current limit or Plus access is restored.

7. Subscriptions, prices, and trials

CasaProof Plus is an auto-renewing subscription sold and billed by Apple or Google. Before purchase, the store purchase sheet is the authoritative source for the product, localized total price, billing period, tax, introductory eligibility, renewal terms, and account charged. RevenueCat helps retrieve offers and apply entitlement; CasaProof does not receive your full payment-card details.

Monthly and annual options are selectable when included in the current store offering. An introductory trial is available only when the store confirms that the current account is eligible and displays it in the purchase terms. Unless cancelled, an eligible trial converts to the paid subscription and the subscription renews under the store terms.

8. Cancellation, account deletion, and refunds

Manage or cancel CasaProof Plus through the App Store or Google Play subscription controls. Uninstalling CasaProof, deleting local data, deleting Private backup, or deleting a CasaProof account does not itself cancel the store subscription. Cancellation normally stops a future renewal while access continues for the period already paid, subject to store rules and mandatory law.

Apple or Google handles store refund requests under its rules and applicable consumer law. See the data and account deletion guide for the separate effects of deleting a rental, local workspace, cloud backup, account, or subscription.

9. AI-assisted messages

AI generation is currently unavailable and is not part of the currently available Plus benefits. The following requirements apply if this optional feature becomes available.

AI-assisted messages require a signed-in account, verified Plus access, a user-triggered Generate action, and acceptance of a separate first-use disclosure before selected issue/report fields are sent to OpenAI.

An AI output may be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, or inconsistent. It is an editable draft, not a fact, decision, or legal advice. You must compare it with your saved record and review it before copying, sharing, or relying on it. Do not use the feature to generate unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, abusive, deceptive, or rights-infringing content.

10. Exports and evidence integrity

A prepared Plus package stores the exact PDF and receipt manifest locally so it can be shared again after its rental is removed. Prepared packages are separate from Private backup and remain until you delete the package, choose Delete all data, or remove the app subject to platform behavior.

Export receipts, byte counts, and photo fingerprints describe saved records included in a prepared file. They are not notarization, certified timestamps, chain-of-custody certification, authenticity guarantees, proof of delivery, or proof that another party accepted a document. Device, printer, file, share-sheet, and recipient-app behavior can affect an export.

11. Third-party services

Optional online features rely on providers including Supabase for authentication and Private backup, RevenueCat and the app stores for subscription status, an email provider for authentication/support, and OpenAI only when the separately disclosed AI feature is used. Provider availability and terms may affect those features. The Privacy Policy explains the data boundary for each service.

12. Availability and changes

We may maintain, secure, change, pause, or discontinue features and limits. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free storage, compatibility with every device or file, permanent provider availability, or that an online service will always recover a local record. Material changes to these Terms will receive a new effective date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Changes do not remove consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, CasaProof is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties that may lawfully be disclaimed. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for lost profit, opportunity, deposit outcome, missed deadline, or data loss arising from use of CasaProof.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or a warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using CasaProof at any time and may separately delete data, backup, or an account. We may restrict online services if you materially breach these Terms, create a security or legal risk, or abuse plan or provider capacity. Where practical and lawful, we will aim to preserve a reasonable opportunity to access or export local records, but you should not wait for termination to make independent copies.

15. Governing terms and severability

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by Portuguese law. Consumers keep any mandatory protections and court rights available where they live. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver.

16. Operator and contact

CasaProof is operated by the independent developer publishing CasaProof and VScout under the Sassodo developer name. Questions about these Terms: [email protected].
